"I Remember Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison" musical stage presentation takes you back 52 years to the final performance of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper at the Surf Ballroom at Clear Lake, Iowa, Feb. 3, 1959! There are also tributes to Roy Orbison and Bobby Vee; who were heavily Influenced by Buddy Holly.

Dick Dunkirk, who does tributes to the Big Bopper and Bobby Vee, is one of the original members of Bobby Vee and the Shadows, the band that filled in for the 3 stars at the Moorhead Armory Feb.3, 1959, known as "The Night the Music Died".

The historical significance is that from that performance exposure, Bobby Vee went on to be one of the biggest singing stars of the 60's, selling 13 million records, several gold records, such as "Take Good Care of My Baby" written for him by Carole King, and "Rubber Ball" written for him by Gene Pitney. The Shadows band, with Bobby Vee's brother Bill on lead guitar, were his touring and recording group until 1964, when the british groups dominated the music world.

Dick Dunkirk revived the band after they were elected to the Mid-America Music Hall of Fame in 2005. Jeff Boxell, who starred in the musical theatre production of "Buddy" performs as Buddy Holly. Wayne Luchau, who has an incredible vocal range, performs as Ritchie Valens and Roy Orbison.

The Show has a 100% sell-out record in the last four years in venues of 400 or less. It is generally regarded as the #1 tribute show in the nation, according to fans and critics who have seen the show.
